I seem to remember there being a bike path between Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness? Does this exist? Did it ever? We will be staying at Fort Wilderness and would love to head over to the lodge on bikes for dinner.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Jacob!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! Get ready for a whirlwind of pixie dust, unforgettable adventures, and nonstop smiles around every corner. I think it's about time to start your countdown, and we can't wait to "See You Real Soon!"

I have to start off by saying that you are going to LOVE staying at Fort Wilderness! In fact, this is my family's favorite resort...hands down! This place is like stepping into a hidden world of Disney MAGIC wrapped in towering pines and peaceful trails. You can spend your mornings watching deer and then hop on a boat to Magic Kingdom just minutes away. There’s endless fun with horseback riding, archery, fishing, and movies under the stars—plus the famous Chip 'n' Dale Campfire Sing-along! It’s the perfect blend of wilderness adventure and Disney wonder, making every day feel like a new frontier of fun.

What a great question! While many longtime Disney fans fondly remember the serene bike path that once connected Fort Wilderness to Wilderness Lodge, that particular trail is no longer available. However, don’t you worry because traveling between these two resorts is still very much alive! Instead of pedaling through the woods, you can hop aboard one of the "blue flag" water launch boats, which glide across Bay Lake and offer a breezy, scenic ride that feels like an attraction all its own. (NOTE: The "blue flag" boats run from 3:00 p.m. to around 10:45 p.m. (EST) and operate a loop between Fort Wilderness, Wilderness Lodge, and the Contemporary.) It’s the perfect way to travel in style to your dinner reservation at Wilderness Lodge—no helmets required! While you can’t bike to Wilderness Lodge, you can absolutely enjoy pedaling around the peaceful trails and loops within Fort Wilderness. It’s a different kind of adventure that still brings plenty of pixie dust!

As you continue to plan, please make sure you check out the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date information regarding all things Disney! Mickey and his pals have some exciting surprises planned, and we don't want you to miss any of the fun.

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way we can!

    Have a MAGICAL day!

    Wes
