Seeking the best information for a cost friendly cruise trip for 2 adults, 2 children (4 and 9). There are many amenities for cruises that we love, but as family who makes payments and has never had a travel vacation before we are seeking guidance.

    Hi, Elizabeth!

I am happy to hear you are planning your very first Disney Cruise! Your kids are great ages to enjoy all that Captains Mickey and Minnie have to offer aboard one of the beautiful Disney Cruise Line ships. From the Oceaneer's Club to poolside fun, you are in for a vacation of a lifetime.

To get the most value when booking a cruise, you will want to start by looking at travel dates. Traveling during busy times (holiday weeks, spring break) will have premium pricing. If you can go at an off-peak time, you will find better rates. You may also want to check the Special Offers page. You might find the perfect sail date and port of choice at a great price.

When choosing your stateroom, an inside room is usually the best value. These rooms do not have a window or balcony but will have the same magic and amenities of other stateroom choices. Every room will have a wonderful Stateroom Attendant who will make sure your room is practically perfect in every way!

Once onboard, almost everything is included in your cruise fare. Evening dining, quick service dining locations, soft drinks at meals and at the soda stations near the pool deck, access to the gym if you want a quick workout, and nightly entertainment - all included! Additional costs will be gratuities, specialty dining (available for guests 18+), popcorn and snacks at the concession stand, spa treatments, and certain activities such as Bingo.

Start browsing cruises to get ideas on pricing. Hopefully you will find a sailing that fits your sail dates and your travel budget. Once you select a cruise, you may lock it in with a deposit. Payments can be made on your own schedule or pay in full at your due date.

I am attaching a video that some of my planDisney friends filmed for first time cruisers. Take a peek at it for tips on everything from planning your cruise to what to expect onboard.

Stop back to planDisney as you work on your travel plans. We will be happy to assist with room selections, ports of call, or any other planning questions that you have. We look forward to hearing from you real soon!
