    With the security points moved can I still access downtown Disney through the grand California hotel?

    Hi, Samantha!

    Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with that great question. Security at the Disneyland Resort has undergone some changes lately, and knowing what to expect before you go will help your visit run more smoothly.

    Yes, you can still access the Downtown Disney District from Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. There is a security checkpoint in the breezeway between the Dream Boutique and Sephora where your bags will be checked before you pass through metal detectors as an additional safety measure. I have found that the line there is usually not as long as other checkpoints, and once you’ve passed through it, you may enter the theme parks without going through a security checkpoint again.
