Yee from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I secured a Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabana at Castaway Cay for the Treasure 6/27/26 voyage. We are a family of four, two daughters (20+ and one who turns 18 that day). Cost is steep. Can we split with another family? if so, how can do I go about that?

    Hey, howdy, hey, Yee!

It's great to hear from you again here at planDisney. I'm so excited to hear you were able to reserve a Cabana at Disney Castaway Cay. For many years, the exclusive and relaxing experience of a private Cabana at Disney Cruise Line's original island paradise was high up on my bucket list. Our family finally had the opportunity a couple of years ago during a very special trip with a large group of friends aboard the Disney Magic. I'm happy to share with you how we went about sharing a Cabana.

The private Cabanas on Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point are available for reservation on a first-come basis through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App or the My Reservations page after the activity booking window opens. Guests staying in a Concierge-level stateroom may email or call the Concierge Service for support in booking a Cabana. When you reserve a Cabana, you indicate each Guest from your party who will be granted access to the Cabana. The base cost covers up to six Guests for most Cabanas. When more Guests are added beyond the number covered by the base amount, additional per-guest costs are also added onto the price charged to the onboard account. Most Cabanas can accommodate up to a maximum of 10 Guests. Grand Cabanas may accommodate up to 16 Guests.

Since each Guest using a Cabana must have their name added to the Cabana reservation, Guests staying in multiple staterooms on a cruise who wish to share the use of a Cabana must first have their itineraries linked together so that their profiles are available to include each other when booking Port Adventures and activities. Besides sharing Cabanas on Castaway Cay, our large group of friends who sailed together a few years ago also loved booking other activities together, including such things as beverage tastings onboard and thrilling adventures in ports. In most cases, charges for activities are added to the onboard account associated with each individual. For private Cabana rentals, the charges are added to the account of the individual making the reservation on behalf of the entire party. Guests from multiple staterooms who are sharing a Cabana and who wish to share the cost should make arrangements privately. In our case, we chose to use a peer-to-peer payment app to easily transfer money to the primary reservation holder for the Cabanas.

Again, I think it's very exciting that you managed to secure your Cabana reservation. I understand the sentiment about the cost. My personal philosophy is that vacations aren't so much expenses as they are investments we make into our family's well-being, unity, and shared happiness. Naturally, whether any particular activity is a worthwhile value for you and your family is something uniquely determined by your personal preferences and budgets. Whatever you choose to do on your vacation, I hope you have the most magical experience possible.

I wish you an enjoyable cruise and your daughter a very happy birthday!
    ~Tony
