Hi, Amy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
As the mom of two very picky eaters, I completely understand your concern. However, I think that you should adopt Timon and Pumbaa's motto and say, "Hakuna Matata." No worries! The Cast Members at
Walt Disney World Resort restaurants want all of their guests to enjoy their meals. In my experience, they have always been quite flexible and willing to work with us to find something that my kiddos would enjoy.
The way that substitutions and accommodations are handled tends to vary from restaurant to restaurant, so just speak to your server to see what your options might be. Kids' menus at Walt Disney World Resort dining locations are meant for Mouseketeers ages 3 to 9. Both of my children are over the age of 9, but they tend to prefer the foods found on the kids' menus rather than the adult entrees at many restaurants. I have found that while I may be charged a higher price than what is listed on the kids' menu, servers are usually able to bring my picky kiddos an adult-sized portion of their favorite kids' menu foods. It is worth noting that if you are using a
Disney Dining Plan, all children over the age of 9 will be considered adults. Their Disney Dining Plan will cost the same as the grown-ups in your group, regardless of what they plan on ordering.
For my family of not-so-adventurous eaters, we find
buffets and family-style meals to be great choices. A buffet is a perfect chance to branch out and try a taste of something new, while still having those familiar, family-friendly foods to fall back on. However, even though
Cinderella's Royal Table is not a buffet-style meal, I still think it is a great choice for your family. Nothing embodies the
magic of the Walt Disney World Resort more than dining in
Cinderella Castle with your favorite
Disney Princesses! Cinderella's Royal Table is a very popular
character dining experience.
Reservations are recommended and can be made up to 180 days in advance.
Wishing you a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
