This will be our second time visiting Disney with the kids (11&9). The first time we stayed at PO and liked it. We chose to stay at CS this time. I am reading mixed reviews from other websites. Should I be nervous?

    Melissa:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel for our opinion!

I've stayed at Port Orleans once and Coronado Springs twice.  These two Moderate resorts have different pros and cons, but I definitely don't think you should be nervous about Coronado Springs!

Port Orleans does offer the boat ride to Downtown Disney, but with the ages of your children, I think you'll love Coronado Springs with it's large lake, sandy shores strewn with lazy hammocks, Mayan-themed pool and slide not to mention a boneyard playground!  Personally, I think the rooms at Coronado Springs are a bit nicer than those at Port Orleans, and both resorts have a few rooms that are more than a stroll from check-in.  (If proximity to the front of the resort is important to you, request a Cabanas or Casitas room.)  In addition, the rooms at CS are more quiet, too, as several of the building for Port Orleans sit adjacent to one of the main thoroughfares through Disney.

Where Coronado Springs takes the biggest leap over Port Orleans is in its food court!  It's the best counter service of the resorts and probably second only to Sunshine Seasons at Epcot for variety and freshness.  Take the time to enjoy the resort during your stay--I don't think you'll be disappointed!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
