Ahoy there, Fred!
I love greeting Guests like this because it feels so nautical and appropriate to cruising. And thankfully, sailing with Captain Mickey is returning! Guests are already onboard in the UK on the Disney Magic, and soon the Disney Dream will be dotting the horizon. I’m overjoyed about this as well as your news that you plan on cruising the
Panama Canal! That 14-night itinerary will give you plenty of time to explore the ship along with those unique destinations.
Currently, there aren’t any Disney ship tours that focus on the inner workings of the ship, like the engine room or the bridge. That is a great suggestion though, and one that I will be happy to pass along to Captain Mickey as a possible offering! However, there are other ship tours that might float your boat.
One of my favorite ways to learn more about Disney Cruise Line and the particular ship we are sailing is the Art of the Theme Show Tour. For adults 18 and up, this wonderful tour shares tidbits about the design and artistic details of the ship. On our Art of the Theme Ship tour, we learned the meaning behind naming the
Palo restaurant, how the carpet can provide clues as to where you are on the ship, and where the color "Monica Blue" can be found. Maybe this is enough of a teaser about this activity so that you want to experience this tour and learn all kinds of fascinating facts on your next sailing.
Another option for Guests of all ages is the Walking Ship Tour. This one is especially useful when we are new to a Disney ship. It has proved to be extremely helpful in giving our family a sense of the ship, allowing us to get our bearings and quickly acclimate to where everything was located. These informative tours are available on all the ships in the Disney fleet and do not require a reservation. To find times and locations for these tours, check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.
Fred, I’d love to hEAR all about your favorite nugget of information you learn on your ship tour. And of course, please cruise back by planDisney if you have more planning questions. Have a WONDERful cruise!
SEA ya real soon!
