It’s always extra fun to hear from a fellow Annual Passholder. What a great way to keep the magic going all year long. I’ve had my pass for years, and I still get a little thrill every time I tap in and hear that magical chime. Let’s take a closer look at how theme park reservations work, and what happens if you can’t make it to the park as planned.
If you’re a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholder, you’ll be happy to hEAR that there’s currently no penalty if you make a park reservation and don’t use it. The reservation will stay on your account until the end of the day; however, you won't face any restrictions or consequences for a no-show. That said, if you know your plans have changed, it’s always a great idea to cancel the reservation as soon as you can. That way, it can free up space for other Guests and assist the Cast Members behind the scenes with attendance and capacity planning.
You can cancel a reservation anytime (even on the day of) right in the
My Disney Experience mobile app. Just tap the plus sign at the bottom of your screen, select
Make or Modify Park Reservations, and follow the prompts to cancel.
Now, if you’re referring to
Disneyland Resort in California, that’s where things are a bit different. Magic Key holders who miss three park reservations in a 90-day period without canceling in advance can be temporarily blocked from making new ones. So far, that policy hasn’t made its way to Walt Disney World; pixie dust is still on our side! As long as Passholders keep sprinkling kindness by canceling when plans change, we can help keep the reservation system gliding along as smoothly as a flight on Soarin’. It’s just one small way we can all help keep the magic in motion for everyone!
