Hello, Jorge. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Since the reopening of Walt Disney World last summer, the sale of new
Annual Passes has been temporarily suspended. We don't yet know when the program will open back up for Guests to purchase. When that announcement does come, we will be able to find out all of the details over on the Disney Parks Blog. I don't think the program is going anywhere, however. Guests that have an active Walt Disney World Annual Pass, like me, are able to renew when it is close to the expiry date. Also, Guests who canceled their Annual Passes instead of taking the extension last year when the parks were closed are able to purchase a new Annual Pass on a case-by-case basis. I would expect an announcement to come by the end of the year.
Until you are able to purchase a Walt Disney World Annual Pass, you have two types of tickets you can choose from. You can purchase a
standard theme park ticket that allows you to enter one Walt Disney World Theme Park per day. The other option is to upgrade your ticket to include the park hopper which allows you to enter multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. I really enjoy parking hopping so that's always my recommendation. If you do upgrade to the park hopper, I should mention that since its return at the start of this year it does look a little bit different than it did before. To park hop, you must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option. You'll then need to make a
park pass reservation in advance for the initial theme park you'd like to visit each day. Then on that day, you'll need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other parks later in the day. Park hopping now starts at 2:00 p.m. and lasts until each park closes in the evening. It is not necessary to make additional park pass reservations to park hop, just that initial one each day.
I have been an Annual Passholder for several years now, Jorge, and it was one of the best decisions. It's so fun to be able to pick up and head to Walt Disney World whenever. Plus, the perks can't be beaten. Some of my favorites are the complimentary theme park parking, Memory Maker for the entire year and discounts on stays, food and merchandise. I hope the program opens back up very soon, Jorge and you are able to join the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and
ask me.
