Hi Elizabeth,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My family recently stayed at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and we got such a kick out of those charming seagulls calling out “MINE! MINE! MINE!” from high in the sky. They’re just one of so many fun and charming Disney details that can be found all around this wonderful resort.
I checked with a Cast Member at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, who told me that the seagulls sleep from 10:00 p.m. each night until 7:00 a.m. each morning. They need a good night’s sleep to digest all those French fries they eat,
am I right? As for how often you’ll hear their call, I don’t think they have a precise schedule, but it seems to me that it’s about every 15 minutes or so. I stayed there for a week earlier this year, and I only remember hearing them twice.
If you will be staying in a Finding Nemo Family Suite and are concerned about sleep, please don’t hesitate to contact Walt Disney World Reservations at (407) 939-1936 to request that your room is on the other side of the building from the seagulls. While requests can’t be guaranteed, they will do their best to make your stay magical.
I hope you love your stay at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! Be sure to make time to wander the resort, because there are so many fun, larger-than-life Disney icons to see and take pictures with. My family had so much fun there, and I know yours will too.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
