    I have a seafood allergy. Does Teppan Edo use separate cooking utensils for each item to avoid cross contamination? thank you

    Hi there JoAnn!

    I've been a Teppan chef at a Japanese Steak House for over eighteen years... guests with Seafood allergies are tough to cook for but not impossible. I have had guests who require food to be cooked separately from others and some who needed different utensils. What I have found in the past is that the best way to keep food from cross contamination is to have the restaurant cook the food in the "kitchen" and have them bring it to your table when it is ready. This will ensure that only your items are cooked together. If you make a special request at Teppan Edo, I am sure they will do this for you.
