Do you have scooters that can be rented for handicap customers?

    Hiya Richard,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m very excited to help you plan your trip to Walt Disney World Resort. The 50th Anniversary is in full swing, and there are so many magical things being added around the park. I am super excited that Character Greetings have returned to Walt Disney World. I can’t wait to give Mickey Mouse and Chewbacca a giant hug; it has been way too long. Your upcoming trip is going to be incredible for sure!

To assist you in having a magical vacation, Walt Disney World Resort does offer wheelchairs and Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) Rentals to Guests experiencing mobility issues for a daily fee. Unfortunately, both wheelchairs and ECVs are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so depending on when you arrive at the Theme Parks, they may be unable to accommodate you. My suggestion is to arrive at the Theme parks early to ensure that you can get whichever option you prefer. Of course, the perk of being early is that you get some of the best photo opportunities and avoid the peak Orlando heat indexes. Some of my best family photos take place when the Theme Parks first open because there are not many people in the background! Also, the lines to speak to Cast Members about rentals will likely be shorter as well. Please note that to rent an ECV, the Guest utilizing it must be 18 years or older to operate it.

For more information on the accessibility access for each of the Walt Disney World Resort rides, check out this guide on the Walt Disney World website. There are quite a few attractions that you or your Guest will be able to remain in the ECV inside of the attraction vehicle.

I hope that you and your family have a magical trip!

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
