Ahoy, Stacy! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for sailing over with your Disney Cruise Line question. It sounds like you are making sure that everything is shipshape for your sailing aboard the
Disney Wish at the beginning of next year.
Disney Cruise Line requires guests to provide their own mobility aids for use onboard, so arranging a scooter rental ahead of time is the best way to ensure that everyone in your party is comfortable and able to enjoy everything that the ship has to offer. Since your scooter rental is set to be delivered onboard, you will be happy to hear that there are a limited number of wheelchairs available for embarkation and disembarkation assistance at the departure port. You should submit a
Special Services request form at least 7 days prior to embarkation to notify the ship that you will have a scooter and are also requesting assistance with boarding.
The
“Information for Guests with Disabilities and/or Medical Conditions” document provides an overview for guests sailing with a mobility device about what you can expect onboard. However, if you have any other questions or concerns, then you can also contact the Disney Cruise Line Special Services department prior to sailing at (407) 566-3602 or email them at specialservices@contact.disneycruiseline.com. The
Guest Services desk will also be able to provide assistance during your time onboard.
I hope that eases some of your concerns and will help set you up for smooth sailing next January. If you have any other questions, then we are always ready to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
