Can I take my scooter on the launch to Magic Kingdom from Fort Wilderness campsite? We will be traveling with family of 7

Hi Barbara! It was so exciting to see a question directed to me about Fort Wilderness. I call it my home away from home since my husband and I spend so much time there especially in the fall months.

There are no buses that go from Fort Wilderness to the Magic Kingdom so your choice of transportation is to drive your own car or take a boat launch. Driving to the park is not fun since you have to park so far away from the entrance. The good news is that the Fort Wilderness boat to the Magic Kingdom will drop you off directly in front of the entrance making this even better then a bus.

The next bit of good news is that you can certainly take your scooter on the Magic Kingdom boats. You don't even have to get out of it but be sure and be very careful as when you enter the boat there are some sharp turns to get completely and safely in. In any case the larger water craft all throughout Walt Disney World will accommodate the scooters just fine. The buses also will allow them so you can hop on an internal bus at the campgrounds to reach the marina area. The smaller boats to the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge are the ones that would require you to fold up all scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers.

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful family vacation. If there are any other Fort Wilderness questions please don't hesitate to ask me. I love to talk to anyone who wants to hear how much I love that resort!
