Pamela, welcome to planDisney! Thank you for sailing by with your question. I think Disney Cruise Line does an exceptional job providing services for
Guests with disabilities. I’m delighted to help with your question.
I can’t wait for you to board the Disney Fantasy and see the gorgeous atrium’s chandelier and sweeping grand staircase. You are welcome to use your mobility device as you explore the ship. The theaters, restaurants, and shops are all wheelchair and scooter accessible. Due to
safety regulations, scooters and wheelchairs must be stored inside staterooms or parked in a designated parking area.
You mentioned you have a standard-sized stateroom. The doors are approximately 23 inches wide. Depending on the size of your scooter, it might not fit comfortably in your cabin. Don’t worry; there are designated scooter parking areas typically located near the midship elevators. Guest Services can help you find the nearest one to your stateroom.
I encourage you to review the
online guide about all the services available for Guests with disabilities. Also, please contact Disney Cruise Line
Special Services to discuss your needs. They can help you reserve no-hassle
Port Adventures by Accessible Travel Solutions that the whole family can enjoy together. These are perfect for those with limited mobility.
It looks like your Caribbean adventure stops at my favorite private island,
Disney Castaway Cay! Once you disembark, you can take the walking path or utilize the trams. There are a limited number of complimentary sand wheelchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis. The majority of these chairs can be picked up across from the Scuttle’s Cove tram stop, with a few available at the other two stops. You can leave your scooter or wheelchair at one of the stops while utilizing the sand wheelchair.
Pamela, hopefully, this information provides some reassurance that you’ll be able to easily navigate your Disney Cruise. We appreciate you stopping by planDisney. Please sail back with any additional questions as your cruise approaches.
SEAS the adventure!
