Hi there, Mary! Welcome to planDisney.
My family had a great time when we stayed under the sea in our
The Little Mermaid Standard Room at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. One of my favorite touches in this section is that the landscaping around the buildings looks aquatic, so you really feel like you've joined Sebastian, Ariel, and their friends in King Triton's court. Get ready to take lots of photos around this super-fun and colorful Disney Resorts Collection hotel!
While an
ECV will fit inside The Little Mermaid rooms, it will be a tight squeeze. These rooms are pretty small, but my family of four stayed there for five nights without too much trouble. Depending on the number of people in your party and how much other gear you have, you may need to be creative and organized to make the space work for you with your scooter in the room, but it's doable.
I would recommend calling (407) 939-1936 to add a request for a first-floor room to your reservation (if you haven't yet made your reservation, you can ask to add that request to your reservation at the time of booking). If you prefer a higher-level room like I do, I would recommend choosing "close to an elevator" when you complete your
online check-in. This will help you navigate to your room with your ECV a little easier. If you'll be using
Disney Bus Transportation, you'll want to get to the bus stop outside Animation Hall early in the mornings so you don't need to wait too long for a bus. I also recommend taking a look at the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities to learn about which attractions require you to transfer from your ECV.
Just as Ariel loves to explore her world, you'll love exploring all the themed areas of
Disney's Art of Animation Resort. We felt like we were inside our favorite Disney and Pixar movies during our stay, and it's so much fun to Ka-Chow! with Lightning McQueen and yell "MINE!" with Nemo's seagull friends. I also love the delicious options at the Landscape of Flavors Quick-Service dining location - they have tons of variety, and who can say no to Simba Waffles? You can

Thank you for stopping by with your question, Mary! If you have any more questions as you plan your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please come back and see us. I hope life is the bubbles during your visit!
Wishing you much magic,
Robyn
