Hey there, Marcio! Welcome to planDisney! I totally get how crucial this question is for you, and I'm so excited to help you out with your upcoming magical trip to
Walt Disney World Resort. I have some fantastic news about all the accessibility options available throughout the resort.
When it comes to bus transportation, Disney World goes above and beyond to provide
extraordinary support services for guests with mobility needs. You will be happy to know that all the bus routes at Disney World are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs and ECVs/scooters.
It's super important to keep in mind that your mobility device should fit the lift without any trouble and must be securely fastened in the onboard restraints. Don't worry; the bus driver will be more than happy to assist you or any of your family members with that. Just let the bus driver know if you need to use the ramp before boarding. Most buses can carry up to 2 mobility devices per trip, and it's recommended that guests using an ECV/scooter transfer to a bus seat while onboard.
Other transport options, such as the
monorail, the Disney Skyliner, and
watercraft, depending on water levels and conditions, can also accommodate ECVs and scooters.
Once you're inside the theme parks, you'll find lots of fantastic accessibility services, including dedicated load and unload areas, Wheelchair Access Vehicles (WAV) so you can experience attractions without transferring from your wheelchair, Transfer Access Vehicles (TAV) for guests who need help getting in and out of vehicles, and
Disability Parking located near the main entrance to each of the 4 theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort.
I really hope this info makes your planning easier, Marcio. If you have any more questions,
feel free to come back anytime. It's always a pleasure to help out our wonderful friends like you!
Cheers
Nilson
