Hi, Adrienne! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
You have certainly chosen an exciting time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort!
Now more than ever, there's so much to see and do on your magical vacation. All of the new happenings throughout the Walt Disney World Resort have brought about some changes, especially at
Disney's Hollywood Studios as they get ready for the opening of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. With the opening of this immersive new land, many guests have been wondering about the future of the current
Star Wars experiences at Disney's Hollywood Studios. I am happy to tell you that many of your favorite Star Wars experiences will be remaining, even after guests begin traveling to the planet Batuu when Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens.
Unfortunately, one experience that will no longer be available to guests is the
Star Wars Guided Tour. I called and spoke to a Cast Member about the Star Wars Guided Tour. I was told that an updated version of this tour could return to Disney's Hollywood Studios at some point, but no plans are in place for this at the moment. While it never hurts for you to call and inquire about this again, it does not sound like this tour will be offered during your visit.
Although the Star Wars Guided tour may not be available, fear not, for fear is the path to the dark side. You can still experience a galaxy far, far away when you take a ride in a Starspeeder 1000 on
Star Tours - The Adventures Continue. If you have younglings ages 4-12 in your group, sign them up to learn the ways of the Force in
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple. For me, no visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios is complete until I get a hug from
Chewbacca at Star Wars Launch Bay. Be sure to end your evening with
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. If you are still interested in experiencing some type of tour during your vacation, take a look at all of the other
unique access tours offered through the Enchanting Extras Collection.
May the Force be with you!
Samantha
