    We are scheduled to take a trip to WDW in Sept 2022. We want to eat at California Grill but are not interested in the "price fixe" menu. Is that a "Have to?" or can you order off the regular menu as well?

    The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration means there's extra pixie dust floating around just about everywhere! California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort is no exception, and the new 3-course tasting experience truly celebrates the legacy of the past 50 years by including current favorites and new dishes inspired by the past. At this time, this is the only dining experience offered at California Grill (with the exception of allergy-friendly substitutions) - the former "regular" menu is not currently available.

    While the 50th Anniversary will be celebrated through March 2023, it is always possible that the menu and experience offerings at California Grill will change before that. I would suggest making an Advance Dining Reservation 60 days in advance, and checking back with the restaurant or with us here at planDisney to see if there are any changes. If it is still not a dining experience you're interested in, you can easily cancel your reservation in advance and make other plans.

    If you are looking for a similar ambiance and high-end cuisine, I suggest considering Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort. They currently have their traditional a la carte dinner menu, and I'm salivating just thinking about it - this is my favorite restaurant at Walt Disney World! You can also view the fireworks from EPCOT's Harmonious nighttime spectacular from the rooftop terrace, and the synchronized music from the show is even played on the terrace speakers!
