Ahoy there, Crystal! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm excited that you and your crew will be sailing away in just a few days on the
Disney Dream! Even more exciting is the fact that it's a
Halloween on the High Seas itinerary - the BEST kind if you ask me!
Speaking of Halloween, when it comes to costumes, I always suggest your crew follow the guidelines for the safety of all guests onboard.
According to these guidelines, costumes must be family-friendly, not obstructive or objectionable, offensive or violent. This determination is always at the complete discretion of Disney Cruise Line crew members!
Remember also that when it comes to any costumes that cover the face completely, the mask portion must be removed while moving about the ship. The only time a mask can be worn is during a photo opportunity at a character meet and greet, or while participating in Mickey's Mouse-querade! My wife and I were sure to dress in maskless costumes anyway when we went as Kristoff and Sven because it's hard to eat candy with your face covered, haha!
Lastly, on itineraries with fewer than seven nights, there are no official theme nights such as semi-formal or formal, but you are more than welcome to dress however you wish to celebrate your vacation! I once cruised next to a couple who dressed in black-tie formal dress each night - it was very cool to see!
I hope that keeps the wind in your sails for your upcoming cruise, Crystal Thank you so much for your question, and if you have any others, please drop me another line here at planDisney!
Oh, and be sure to keep a weather eye on the horizon for "ghost ships!"
Andrew
