    Is there a scheduled reopening date for BTMR? We're coming for an anniversary trip in Dec and it's my wife's favorite!! Is this a LONG refurb? Thanks!

    Hi Clint! Welcome to planDisney!

    I'm excited to hear about your upcoming anniversary trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! I'm sure you and your wife are going to create even more magical memories during your stay.

    Clint, I don't have the best news to share about Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While it is currently undergoing a refurbishment, it's not slated to reopen until sometime in 2026. This has been an extended refurbishment, so I'm excited to see what is in store when it reopens. 

    While I'm sorry that your wife will miss out on it during this trip, she will have plenty of new experiences to check out while you are there. Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away has recently debuted under the night sky at the Magic Kingdom. This new nighttime parade is worth the hype that has surrounded it and is the perfect complement to Happily Ever After.

    Over at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the new villain-themed show is now playing. Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is an amazing stage show that showcases some of these iconic characters.
