Hi there, Laura!
Thanks for coming onboard here at planDisney! So thrilled for you that you plan on sailing to the
Panama Canal. This voyage is definitely on my bucket list with some amazing ports. Then again, how could it not be? The Panama Canal is listed as one of the seven wonders of the world! Plus, the
Disney Wonder is my absolute favorite ship in the fleet. That’s a lot of WONDER wrapped up in one cruise!
Viewing the itineraries, it looks like your November 5th sailing on the Disney Wonder departs from San Diego and returns to Galveston. You probably know that
Galveston does not have a commercial airport. Disney Cruise Line actually recommends Guests cruising from Galveston use Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport. I love hEARing that you have already arranged
ground transportation to travel from Galveston to Houston.
In the past, Disney Cruise Line has recommended 1:00 P.M. as the earliest departure time from George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston on Debarkation Day. This is a very realistic estimate because you will likely disembark from the ship around 9:00 A.M., and travel time from Galveston to the airport will be approximately 90 minutes. Still, I would suggest that you add in a little bit of “just in case” time if you can to grab food and provide extra breathing room to comfortably make your flight.
Speaking of flying, fly back to planDisney anytime because I would love to chat more about your Panama Canal voyage! Hope your cruise is pixie dusted in every way!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
