Hi there, Nicole!
Welcome back to planDisney and thanks for your question! I am already so excited about the Disney Destiny, what a great adventure you have to look forward to.
I spoke with a Cast Member this morning who confirmed that the
Disney Destiny is not currently scheduled for
Very Merrytime Cruises. Entertainment offerings are always subject to change, so it's certainly possible that they may decide to deck the halls a bit before you set sail. But I have a hunch that they may want the ship's debut to focus on the decor and entertainment that makes her special, not the holidays. Even without holiday decor, the Disney Destiny will be shiny and new, just for you!
If you want to add a little cheer to your cruise then you might look for some festive magnets for your stateroom door or a small tree to bring with you! I did notice that the
Onboard Gifts site has some holiday treats and decor for cruises sailing from Fort Lauderdale this season. I would guess that there may be some options for your cruise next year, too! A cruise is also the perfect time to pack a fancy holiday outfit or funny sweater to take some family photos.
I already know that my favorite show on this exciting new ship will be
Disney Hercules! I have always loved the music from that movie and I'm sure the staged version will be absolutely epic. You can see more
sneak peeks about all the exciting things coming to the Disney Destiny on the Disney Parks Blog! Your question made me think of one of the most amazing holiday movies ever because in
The Muppet Christmas Carol the wonderful Kermit sings about how "Wherever you find love it feels like Christmas." Whatever the decorations, I hope your cruise will be both heroic and merry, Nicole!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
