Hi Melissa,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I hope you have your autograph books ready. The characters at Chef Mickey's are so much fun!
Although you will not be able to see the fireworks from the dining area at Chef Mickey's, there is a balcony with a fantastic view of Magic Kingdom on the same floor at Disney's Contemporary resort hotel. Given the time of your dinner reservation, however, you may not be done dining in time to see the show. Be sure to check show times for your visit if you have not done so already. Just go to the
Happily Ever After homepage and use the calendar feature to select the dates of your visit and see the times of the show.
Another viewing alternative is
California Grill, a signature dining experience atop Disney's Contemporary resort hotel. We love to dine there during the fireworks. The view is spectacular, especially if you have a window table. We have also dined at 'Ohana during the Happily Ever After fireworks. From our window table, we had a lovely view of the fireworks show. The show's music and narration were played in the restaurants during our visits, so our girls were mesmerized!
Since Disney's Contemporary resort hotel is within walking distance of Magic Kingdom, you could actually do dinner earlier and walk back to Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks. If you snag a viewing spot right after the last Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party, you should be able to find a great spot near Cinderella Castle.
Melissa, dinner at Chef Mickey's will be fun, especially if you have little ones with you. If you want to see the fireworks during dinner, however, consider other options!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
