Jambo, Emmylou!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I had the opportunity to experience the
Caring For Giants tour available at Disney's Animal Theme Park just over a week ago! You are going to love the behind-the-scence access to these beloved animals. Getting to see baby Stella was a highlight for me.
Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended due to the uneven and woodsy-like terrain you will be navigating during your time backstage, it's very different from the concrete flooring of the theme parks. Walt Disney World® Resort is wild about safety and wants to be sure guests don't have any run-ins with any insects, rocks or sticks potential hurting a guest with open shoes, even your Cultural Guides will be wearing closed-toed footwear.
Speaking of the Cultural Guides, they love for guests to ask a lot of questions while on the tour, so don't be afraid to interact with them and ask away! They are fantastic!
I hope this helps, Emmylou! Please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions you may have regarding this tour. Having experienced this tour myself, I am here to help answer all your questions.
