Heya, Hiya, Erin! Welcome to planDisney!
It sounds like you're just a couple of magical months away from your adventure to the Disneyland Resort! You'll be stepping right into the heart of flavor at
Disney California Adventure Park during the absolutely delicious
Food & Wine Festival! Get those taste buds ready for a culinary adventure!
But hold on to your Mickey ears, because we've got another mission to accomplish first: snagging a reservation for the ever-so-popular
Lamplight Lounge! (If you’ve ever tried the potato flautas during brunch, you’ll totally understand why it’s a hoppin’ place!). But fear not, I've got some tips that can help!
Here's my secret formula for booking dining reservations: Look early and look often! You've already mastered the "early" part. Dining reservations at this location open up 60 days in advance, and with your mid-March arrival, you're right on track! But here's where the real magic happens: Look often. Reservations can pop up at any moment! Maybe a Guest had a change of plans. Or perhaps they filled up on a Not So Little Chicken Sandwich from
Pym Test Kitchen (who could blame them?) and had to reschedule their Lamplight Lounge feast. The point is, plans change faster than a ride on the Incredicoaster, and that means reservations do, too! So, keep checking, and you might just strike gold! (And by “gold”, I mean those golden-fried potato flautas. Can you tell they’re my favorite yet?!)
If you're looking to combine a delightful dinner with a dazzling show, the
World of Color Dining Package is just the ticket! It's like a two-for-one deal on magic! This package includes a tasty lunch or dinner at Wine Country Trattoria, Magic Key Terrace (both at Disney California Adventure Park), or Storytellers Cafe at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. And the cherry on top? You'll get a voucher for the World of Color preferred viewing area in Paradise Gardens Park. Trust me, if you haven't seen World of Color – ONE, prepare to be dazzled! It's one of my absolute favorite nighttime spectaculars at the Disneyland Resort!
Oh, and here's a little bonus tip! If you'd rather skip the dining package but still want a fantastic view of the show, the
Virtual Queue might be just what your inner Moana is looking for! Virtual queue reservations for World of Color – ONE become available in the Disneyland mobile app at 12 PM on participating days. To join, open the Disneyland app, tap the menu button (those three little lines at the bottom right), and tap “Virtual Queues”. Then, tap the "Join Virtual Queue" button to see what's available and snag your spot. Just a heads-up, these virtual queues are as popular as Mickey Mouse himself, so you’ll want to make your way toward the final booking step a few minutes before the clock strikes 12 PM. Once noon arrives, refresh the page to try to grab your spot!
Erin, I wish you the most magical time at the Disneyland Resort, filled with unforgettable moments and, of course, amazing food! May your trip be as satisfying as the potato flautas from Lamplight Lounge. (Sorry I had to say it one more time!). If you need any more tips (dining or otherwise!), please don't hesitate to reach out to us here at planDisney!
