Hey there, Lisa. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.
Several months back my daughter broke her foot and was also in a walking boot right before our trip to
Walt Disney World. In fact, we took 3 trips while her foot was healing. Rest assured, you are still going to have a fabulous time on vacation. For our family, it was like nothing happened - she didn't miss a beat. You will be able to enjoy all of the attractions while in your boot. My daughter's foot did seem to get a little sore after walking around the first day. So much so, we opted to
rent a wheelchair for her while we were there. This was so much better for her the rest of our trip. We rented a wheelchair for the length of stay, which gives you a little bit of a discount per day. I highly recommend you do the same. Wheelchair rentals can be found at the front of each of the
Walt Disney World Theme Parks. When you are ready to return to your
Walt Disney World Resort Hotel in the evening, you'll need to return the wheelchair where you picked it up. If you need one to get you back to your car or the
complimentary buses they will have you transfer to a different style wheelchair that can be used in the parking lot areas. It was fairly easy to navigate the wheelchair throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks and she even got to stay in it throughout most of the attractions queues. At the end of each attraction, for the most part, the Cast Members had it waiting right at the exit for her. I did bring a blanket for her to sit on to make the seat a little bit more comfortable and she did say she enjoyed that.
I just know you are going to have a great time at Walt Disney World. Don't let the walking boot rain on your parade. But do rent a wheelchair and have someone push you throughout the parks. It will make your experience that much more enjoyable. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask.
