Welcome BACK, Lisa!
It's great to see you asking another
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, because that means that you'll soon be coming back Home!
We actually don't know too much about what Mickey and his pals have up their sleeves to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. (He
does love a good surprise after all ...) However, when we look back at some past celebrations, like Walt Disney World's 25th that saw Cinderella Castle turn into a 17-story pink birthday cake that lasted about 18 months, Disneyland's 60th which celebrated for almost two years, and even Mickey's 90th Birthday that saw special costumes, menu items and merchandise through most of 2019, I think that we can expect a celebration that will last for a least a full year.
Walt Disney World Resort opened on October 1, 1971. And guests can reserve a room-only reservation at a
Disney Resort Hotel up to 499 days away from their desired check-
out date. (Meaning the entirety of your vacation must fit within those 499 days.) So what you could do is go ahead and reserve a room for the very start of the celebration, and then as we lEARn more you could move those dates around or keep the initial dates and later turn your booking into a special room-tickets-dining plan package or any
Special Offer, Deal or Discount as those details are released.
Definitely keep up with the
Disney Parks Blog as they are the official source of everything new and now, and will be the first to drop hints at what's to come for this milestone celebration. And if you have any more Disney vacation planning questions, Lisa, We're All Ears!
