Hi Michael,
Welcome to planDisney!
As opening dates for
Disney Resorts Collection hotels are announced, those projected reopening dates will be posted on the
resort hotels updates page. In the meantime, I suggest that you start pricing a vacation package using the resort hotels that are open or already expected to be open by the dates of your visit. If your trip dates are firm, you may need to book a different resort hotel initially and then modify that
vacation package if your preferred resort hotel reopens in time.
As long as we are required to make
Disney Park Pass system reservations, I suggest that you not wait too long to book that vacation package. If you later have to cancel your trip or modify your dates, you can cancel those park pass reservations and make new ones as long as the parks have availability for your new dates. Check the
theme park availability calendar before booking or modifying a vacation package.
Although I cannot give an exact date for the reopening of Disney's Port Orleans Resort, I can say that I adore this resort, both at French Quarter and Riverside. The grounds are gorgeous, and the pools are super cute. I always feel as if Tiana is around the corner running her restaurant and sharing the love through food.
Since you have some time, I also recommend that you consider your dining plans. As your 60-day advanced dining reservation window opens, have your desired dining locations identified. And, make sure that all of those plans are linked in your
My Disney Experience account.
Michael, we are so glad you stopped by with a question. If you visit early enough in January, you may catch some of the beautiful
Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort decorations. We cannot wait to welcome you to a world of magic!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
