Hi Julia!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for coming to us with your question about the
Disability Access Service, or DAS, available to Guests visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort. Guests who are unable to wait in traditional queues are able to apply for this service. The DAS provides accommodations to allow Guests to experience the attractions at the parks. During our trips, we have utilized the DAS to allow our family members to enjoy the most out of the theme park experiences.
Julia, Guests now have the opportunity to pre-register for DAS via video chat from the comfort of their homes. You will need to access the DAS video chat 30 days or less prior to your scheduled trip. Click on the link provided for DAS, scroll down to the 'Top Things To Know...' section, and click on the hyperlink '
Register for DAS.' Once the new page has loaded, scroll down to the link '
Request Live Video Chat.' You will then be taken to a chatbox, where you will wait until a Cast Member prompts you to begin the video chat. Your son will need to be with you at the time of the video chat, so bear that in mind. Also, they are experiencing greater than normal wait times, and your wait will likely be longer than anticipated. Once you've completed the video chat, your son will be registered for DAS, and you will be able to make advance attraction reservations with the help of the DAS Cast Members.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
