My 7 YO is too scared to ride most of the rides included in the Day VIP Tour but I can’t leave him alone while I tour all day: I can’t justify $349 for him. Can he tag along but I use his regular FastPasses if he will ride / pay extra for food we might get

    Welcome BACK, Lucy!

It's so great to assist you today with more of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions! I know exactly how you feel right now because my Mouseketeer is also afraid of almost every attraction that isn't a gentle boat or slow moving train. In fact when asked, he'll tell you his favorite ride is either the parking lot tram or the monorail. I'm so glad that we're Annual Pass holders, ha!

I've done a lot of thinking about your dilemma, and here is what I've come up with. Walt Disney World Resort is bursting with magic and Cast Members who want to do what they can to ensure that every guest has a fantastic visit. The request of your son tagging along on your tour is a decision that the VIP Tour Services will have to make, but I can say that if you've already booked your tour you'll want to reach out to them as soon as possible because once your specific tour sells out then there won't be a way to bring him with you, even by adding him as a regular tour guest. Their phone number is (407) 939-7529.

Another option while you're on the tour would be to schedule In-Room Child Care or try to reserve In-Park Assistance, both offered through Disney's Childcare Services. Their phone number is (407) 828-0920.

Or, if you wanted to go in a different direction, you could schedule a different tour during the day that you might both enjoy, like Behind the Seeds, Disney's Family Magic Tour, or Up Close with Rhinos. And then in the evening you could drop him off at the Children's Activity Center, Camp Dolphin, at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, located between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot. My idea here is you could enjoy your three FastPass+ selections on more thrilling attractions by yourself knowing that your son is also having a great time.

My last thought would be to schedule your own Private VIP Tour where you could design your perfect Disney Day for your entire family. You could even recreate the same tour as the Ultimate Day of Thrills down to the factoids and trivia, but pepper in the stops that your son would want to make, with the neat bonus of having another adult to wait with your son while you enjoy the more thrilling attractions. My fellow panelist and good friend Amy H can better answer any questions you may have about scheduling, planning or utilizing a Private VIP Tour.

I hope this was somewhat helpful, Lucy, and keep those questions coming. We'll See You Real Soon!
