How does scanning into Lightning Lane rides with Genie+ work for people who do not have MagicBand+, smart phones or an apple watch? My kids do not have any. If one person in our party has a MagicBand+, can they scan in Lightning Lanes for the whole group?

Hello and welcome (back) to planDisney, Diana. We're so glad that you came back to visit us with this question. It looks like your visit to the Disneyland Resort will be here soon and I'm thrilled to help you prepare.

I am so glad to hear that you are planning to summon the phenomenal cosmic powers of Disney Genie+ Service for your visit. I have a couple of ideas to share for those who might not have a smartphone or MagicBand+ to scan in for Lightning Lane Entrances. Unfortunately, you won't be able to use one MagicBand+ to scan in everyone in your party. A MagicBand+ can only be linked to one person and one ticket. You can, however, use one person's smartphone to scan everyone in. You can link everyone's ticket in the Disneyland app to make Lightning Lane selections as well as scroll through and scan each person's ticket for entry.

To link tickets, open the Disneyland app and tap the "☰" to open the menu. Next, tap the "My Tickets & Passes" tile followed by the "+" in the upper right corner. Tap "Link Tickets & Passes" and use the "Camera" feature to quickly scan each ticket barcode to add all tickets.

I also chatted with a friendly Cast Member during my last visit who shared that you can also visit City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. and request to have a paper ticket printed out for those in your party who may not have a smartphone or MagicBand+. They can use the ticket to scan into Lightning Lane entrances. They can also visit a Guest Relations location in the parks to have a Cast Member sign them up for a Lightning Lane return time.

There are so many wonderful things happening at the Disneyland Resort this year. The Season of the Force and Pixar Fest will be in full swing during your visit. Be sure to take advantage of the unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from your day that are included with Genie+ Service. And if it's your first visit to the Disneyland Resort, ask for a complimentary "1st Visit!" button while you're at City Hall or in most of the shops on Main Street, U.S.A.

Diane, I hope this information is helpful and helps to put your mind at ease. Mostly, I hope that you have a magical visit to the Happiest Place on Earth. Let the countdown to the magic begin!
