    How to scan ticket mobile on ride

    Hey Howdy Hey, Agustina!

    Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for moseying by with your question today.  How exciting that you are planning ahead for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation and dreaming about accessing the attractions!  There are many new attractions - like TRON Lightcycyle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind that sure are to add a little giddy-up to your day!

    Agustina, when you enter the theme parks, you will need to have both a valid theme park ticket and a theme park reservation to enter.  To purchase the tickets and to make your theme park reservations, you will need a My Disney Experience account (or log into your existing account). Then, the easiest thing to do is to download the My Disney Experience app to your smartphone and log into your My Disney Experience account from the app so that you will be able to access these tickets from your mobile phone.  Assuming you have pre-booked these two steps, you will scan your ticket upon entrance to the theme park from your My Disney Experience app or your MagicBand+ (if it is linked to your tickets) to enter the park.

    Now, for most attractions, you won't need to scan your mobile ticket or MagicBand+ UNLESS you have joined a Virtual Queue for a few specific attractions (currently only TRON: Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind) or have purchased Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane passes.  If you have, then just like you entered the park, you can use your MagicBand+ or My Disney Experience app to "tap into" these attractions.   

    To reserve a Virtual Queue or purchase Disney Genie+ or Individual Lightning Lane passes, you can do this on the day of your theme park visit.  For Virtual Queue attractions, this is available through your My Disney Experience app at 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. each day and must be reserved in advance. There is no charge to join the Virtual Queues but they do get booked quickly, so you want to book them right at 7:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. if possible.  For Disney Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane, these can be purchased for an additional fee through My Disney Experience app beginning at 7:00 a.m.  Cast Members are also available to help you if you have questions when scanning in for the attractions.
