Do you have to scan a fingerprint? Can you use your ID instead?

    Hiya Jacklyn,

Welcome to planDisney! I hope you are excited about visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth. With the opening of Tron Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise, it is such an exciting time at the Theme Parks. I’ve been dreaming of entering the grid and enjoying a DOLE Whip on Main Street, U.S.A. What a great question; thank you for bringing it to us today!

In my experience, Cast Members always work hard to ensure that Guests have the most magical time, which means ensuring everyone is comfortable if they can. I spoke to a Cast Member because I know that fingerprint scans are a large part of verifying identity so that Theme Park tickets are not transferred between Guests. I was able to confirm that you can opt out of using the finger scan if you would like and instead use a photo ID. Before entering the Theme Parks, you must stop at a Guest Relations counter and speak with a Cast Member.

I hope that was helpful, Jacklyn! Just one last thing before I let you go, don’t forget to make sure that your photo ID matches the name on your ticket. This will ensure you can use an ID for alternative entry. If you need anything else, please come back and see us!

    Happy Planning,

Hey Y'all! I’m Ashley and I live in Texas. My family and I love trying out the yummy snacks (DOLE Whip anyone!) and taking full advantage of our resort days. When we are not piloting the Millennium Falcon, exploring Kilimanjaro Safaris, or watching fireworks, you can find me planning our next adventure to Walt Disney World! I am so excited that you are planning a trip, and I look forward to helping you dig a little deeper and find the magic in all of the wonders of Walt Disney World Resort. Learn More About Ashley
