Disney's Magical Express

It says that the transportation from the airport will not be able no 2022. We are planning a trip for April 2022. Will there still be some kind of transportation from the airport to a resort?

    Hello, Ann. Welcome to planDisney.

Sadly, Disney's Magical Express Service, which was a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport to the Walt Disney World Resort, will be discontinued at the end of this year. Walt Disney World has not announced another service to take its place. Leaving a lot of Guests like yourself wondering what they should do for transportation.

No worries though, Ann. I have a few ideas to get you to the Most Magical Place on Earth! The first option and most convenient is going to be using a ride-share service. The major companies service this area and are pretty competitive on their pricing. I've used this option quite a bit, even when the Magical Express has been offered to me because I feel like it's a much faster way to get to Walt Disney World. There are plenty of ride-share cars waiting around the airport and I've never really had to wait very long to get one. Ride-share services are able to drop you off right at the entrance of your resort hotel and often help with luggage.  If you aren't comfortable with a ride-share service a taxi is going to be a comparable option but I do find they tend to be a bit more expensive than a ride-share. Another option to consider is hiring a car to be at the airport when you land and back again when you are ready to go home. A quick Google search will turn up some of the best-rated car services in the Orlando area. Car options often include a town car, SUV, passenger van and if you really want to go in style - a limousine! The other option I suggest is looking into the brand new shuttle service from the company, Mears. Mears is actually the company that Walt Disney World outsourced the Magical Express Service from. They are going to be offering this service starting at the beginning of 2021 and be taking Guests back and forth 24/7.

While none of these options are complimentary, they are some of the best available to transfer you to Walt Disney World and back to the airport once again. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
