Hi Debbie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I know you must be looking forward to your Disney Cruise Line vacation aboard the beautiful Disney Dream! And cruising with little Mouseketeers will make it that much more exciting! I know how much my own mom is looking forward to her first Disney Cruise Line vacation with my boys next month…she can hardly contain herself and quite honestly, my boys are just as thrilled to have their grandparents on the “Mickey Boat” with them!
Unfortunately, as you are finding, you are not going to be able to register your grandson for the Stingray Adventure while at Castaway Cay. Disney Cruise Line requires that Guests be at least five-years old to participate in this excursion, and unfortunately, because the encounter occurs IN the water, no exceptions can be made. If you are looking for some sort of sea life encounter during your vacation, I would highly recommend a Dolphin encounter at either Atlantis or Blue Lagoon where many options would allow for your four-year old grandson to participate. My boys recently had a dolphin experience while in Cabo, and they STILL TALK ABOUT IT NONSTOP! They had such a great time and while we weren’t sure how they would ultimately enjoy it, they LOVED IT! I also saw that there are stingray experiences available at Atlantis (booked directly through Atlantis), but it also states that the minimum age for this is five-years old, but that is another option you could look into.
Believe me, you will find so much to do at
Castaway Cay that will keep you busy – dance parties, whale digs, beach time, Pelican Plunge…. you will definitely have a full day of fun in the sun there – with or without a stingray encounter!
Wishing you a magical adventure where all your DREAMs comes true!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
