Welcome back to planDisney, Marcie. Thanks for bringing us another question!
I also have a MagicBand 2 from a previous Walt Disney World vacation that I would love to use at the
Disneyland Resort. Unfortunately, the Happiest Place on Earth adopted the technology more recently than our pals on the East Coast and only supports
MagicBand+. I'm so sorry, Marcie!
Hopefully, you have money in your budget to add a new Magic Band+ to your collection, Marcie. It's a great souvenir and a worthy investment - not only does it work at Disneyland, but it also works aboard Disney Cruise Line and at Walt Disney World. My MagicBand+ has traveled with me to Florida on numerous occasions and will be headed aboard the Disney Treasure this summer. I loved mine so much that I ended up buying them for my whole family, and we have gotten so much great use out of them. If you do buy a new Magic Band, be sure to use your
Chase Disney Visa, as cardholders currently get a discount on merchandise purchases at select locations throughout the theme parks and hotels!
Right now is a great time to buy a Magic Band+ since there are some fun
Magic Band interaction stations throughout the Resort for the
Disneyland 70th Anniversary. My personal favorite is located to the right of the Jungle Cruise, in a locker by the stroller parking. I also love the Magic Band interaction near Sleeping Beauty Castle!
I hope this information helps, Marcie. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
I'd love to help!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
