We will be saying offsite, near AK. I've read that to get to MK it may be faster to park at EPCOT and take the monorail than going through TTC. Do you think this is accurate? Thanks for all your help!

    Hi Allison!

The quickest way to get to the Magic Kingdom will be to park your car at the Ticket and Transportation Center (the TTC--which is the parking lot for the Magic Kingdom) if you are staying off Walt Disney World property near where the Animal Kingdom is located.  It is about a 15 to 20 minute drive to the Ticket and Transportation Center from the Animal Kingdom area.  Once you park at the Ticket and Transportation Center, then you will take a tram to the area where the Monorails and Ferry Boats transport people to the Magic Kingdom.  I would estimate about 15 to 20 minutes from when you park your car to get to the gates of the Magic Kingdom which gives you about a 30 to 40 minute total travel time using this route.  If you choose to drive to Epcot and park to take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom, it will take you around 10 to 15 minutes to drive to Epcot by car and park.  You would have to take a tram from where you parked your car to where the Monorail is. Also the Epcot Monorail goes to the Ticket and Transportation Center (the TTC) and then you have to transfer to another Monorail that goes to the Magic Kingdom. This route will take you 40 to 60 minutes or more--the Monorail part of the trip is around 30 to 40 minutes by itself. This route totals between 50 and 75 minutes so you can see that this choice would be the longer of the two routes.

I hope that your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
