Saying at GF I. Dec 2011:)Should we request a certain area/room We don't really want to pay extra for theme park view but would like maybe be able to see fireworks and also would like to be close to monorail but not too close bc of noise( 2 & 4y boys)

    Hi Patti,

You are going to love Disney's Grand Floridian Resort.  It is such a gorgeous, romantic, and convenient place to stay while at Walt Disney World.

If you want to be close to the monorail (but not too close), then I suggest you request a room in Big Pine Key.  Unless you have reserved a room with a theme park view, you are not likely to see fireworks from your private balcony.  However, you increase the chances of seeing them from your room if you request a room in Boca Chica.  We stayed there a few years back in a garden view room that was just spectacular.  We had a lovely view of Seven Seas Lagoon with a glimpse of Cinderella Castle off to the right.  We still preferred, however, to watch Wishes and the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach.  The views from there are just magical!

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!
