I saw that you went over New Years. My family and I are going from Dec 30th 2012 through Jan 3rd 2013. I am just wondering if there is going to big crowds. We went over Halloween last year and the crowds was not that bad. Will it be the same for New Years?

    Hi Karyn!!

Thank you so much for the direct question!!

Spending New Years Eve at Walt Disney World was such a magical experience!!  I will never forget the fireworks display that went off at midnight!!

Christmas/New Years is the most crowded time of the year at Walt Disney World.  You will see a definite increase in the crowds this time of year versus around Halloween.  You can expect for theme parks (especially the Magic Kingdom) to restrict guests due to capacity.  The Magic Kingdom actually closed its gates shortly after noon on New Years Eve when I was there.

I would highly recommend arriving at the theme park you want to be at on New Years Eve early that morning and planning on staying until you want to leave that evening.  My wife and I spent a 16 hour day at the Magic Kingdom on New Years Eve and loved every minute of it!!

I know that you will have such a magical time ringing in the New Year and still getting to enjoy all the beautiful Christmas decorations while on your trip.  Please let me know if you have any other questions that I can help answer!!

    Have a magical day!
