Saw there’s a transfer device for Splash Mountain. I was wondering how it works. I will be transferring from a wheelchair and this is my favorite ride. Just checking to see if it’s a possibility for me. Thank you.

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, Lori! I'm so happy you followed Br'er Rabbit back here to planDisney!

It sounds like you'll be heading to Walt Disney World Resort this spring and I'm absolutely twitterpated for you. Spring is my favorite season to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth and you're sure to find magic waiting for you around every corner! From all the exciting additions for The Walt Disney World Resort 50th Anniversary Celebration to the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival that will be blooming just in time for your visit, you're in for an extra special trip!

The only thing that could make your magical vacation even better is knowing that you'll be able to experience your favorite rides and attractions. Lori, I'm thrilled to help you get back to your Laughing Place! Walt Disney World Resort does its best to help everyone experience the magic without any barriers, and that includes providing Guests with services to meet their mobility needs

You are right, Lori! There is a transfer device that will help make it easier to transfer into and out of the ride vehicle for Splash Mountain. From what I understand, the transfer device looks a little like a horse saddle and will make getting into and out of your ride vehicle as easy as possible. This device is placed on the side of the log, which will shorten the distance from the wheelchair to the seat of the log itself. When you head to Splash Mountain, just let one of the wonderful Cast Members know that you're interested in using a transfer device and they will be able to accommodate that for you! If you have any other specific questions related to mobility services, you can contact the team at Disability Services by calling (407) 560-2547 or emailing disability.services@disneyparks.com.

To make your experience even better, I would also recommend downloading and exploring the My Disney Experience app! This is a little like holding your own personal magic wand in your hand, unlocking everything that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. You can view park maps, check wait times for attractions, and even mobile order food, which is a great way to have your snacks and meals ready before you ever feel a rumbly in your tumbly! You can also explore and decide if you'd like to purchase the Disney Genie+ service, which will allow you to reserve times for your favorite rides - including Splash Mountain!

If you have any other questions related to your trip, please feel free to visit us again. After all, you've got a friend in me!

My oh my, what a wonderful day!
