Hey there, Deb! Thanks for stopping by planDisney and sharing your question about the happiest cruise that ever sailed!
I’m happy to report that
“it’s a small world” will be open and taking guests on a voyage of friendship and fun on July 17, 2025 (schedules and availability subject to change).
It was recently announced that a new verse written by Richard Sherman will be added to the attraction at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland, but it doesn’t sound like that will require any downtime for this iconic ride.
Richard Sherman and his brother Robert wrote “it’s a small world” when the ride made its debut at the 1964 World’s Fair, and created other Disney musical classics like “There’s a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” and “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” The new verse, written by Richard before his passing in 2024, will be added to the attraction’s final scene.
“Mother earth unites us in heart and mind
And the love we give makes us humankind
Through our vast wondrous land
When we stand hand in hand
It’s a small world after all.”
- "it's a small world" Finale Scene Lyrics
