I saw the railroad will be closed in the magic kingdom during our stay in October. Will this change the way the park opens in the mornings? We are really hoping to share this experience with our DD 3 on hir first trip to "mickey's house."

    Hi Kris,

I love the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show! It's such a fun way to kick off the day!

I seem to recall times in the past when they've still held the Welcome Show even when the Walt Disney World Railroad was being refurbished. The difference was that they did not have the train swoop into the station with the characters and the guests of honor.

I haven't heard anything as far as how they plan to modify the Welcome Show during this particular refurbishment season, but I'd be willing to bet that the show will still go on!

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

Once you enter through the gates, head over to your far right if you want to watch the Welcome Show. That way, you and your family won't have to squint while you watch because you'll have the sun to your back.

Sadly, I share that tip with so many people, yet I always end up on the left side. That show is so much more fun to watch when you're not being blinded by the sunrise!

I hope that helps! Please feel free to write back if you should have any additional questions and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

Otherwise, I'll be "walkin' right down the middle of Main Street, U....S....A!"

    Best regards,
    Derek
