Hi, I saw a question asked back in 2008 and I was hoping someone could tell me if it was still accurate. I want to book my room today, but I won't have the funds for the deposit till the 16th. do you still have 14 days to make the deposit.

    Hi Kristy,

Good job checking up because the rules for reservation deposits have changed a bit! If you are making your vacation reservation online, whether it's a room-only reservation or a package, you will have to make a deposit at the time of booking.

The rules change are different when you are booking over the phone. If you make a Walt Disney World Resort hotel room-only reservation over the phone, without tickets or dining plan, you will be required to make a deposit equal to one night's stay within seven days of booking, with the balance due upon arrival. The exception is if your arrival date is within thirty days, you will be required to make the deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due upon arrival.

If you are booking a package over the phone, you are required to make a $200.00 deposit within seven days with the balance due 45 days before your arrival. If you are traveling within 45 days, you will have to pay for the entire package at the time of booking.

Wishing you the best of luck booking your magical vacation,
