Hi Amy,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!
if you’re looking to find ways to take the sting out of the exchange rate for your upcoming Disney Parks vacation, one of the best tricks I’ve found has been to buy
Disney Gift Cards before my visit. You can even buy them in CAD from Canadian retailers and use them when you’re stateside at almost any point of sale in the Disney Parks. I’ve found them to be a great way to budget for my family’s visits to Walt Disney World Resort.
I’m happy to say that Disney Gift Cards can absolutely be used at most Disney Dining locations in the Theme Parks,
Disney Resorts Collection hotels and even at several locations at Disney Springs. I say “most” locations because there are some third-party locations that don’t accept them because they aren’t Disney owned and operated. My advice would be to always have a backup payment method, just in case.
As for
Mobile Food and Beverage Orders, I’m happy to say that a recent
My Disney Experience Mobile App update now allows Guests to use a Disney Gift Card as a form of payment. You won’t be able to save the gift card to your account, the way you currently can for a credit card, so you’ll need to input the card number each time you place an order.
I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect vacation for you and your family! Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
