I saw a post from 2014 - I'm wondering if this is still true. If we are not using the Disney Dining Plan, can my 10 year old still order off the kids menu at a table service and/or quick service restaurant?

    Hi Jamie!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your dining question - I'm happy to help!

While we've purchased the Disney Dining Plan many times on our Walt Disney World Resort vacations, sometimes we decide to opt out. We've enjoyed the ease and convenience of the Dining Plan, but we are just as happy to "wing it"!

If your 10-year-old prefers to order from the Kids' Menu when dining - he/she will be more than welcome to. I have a 13-year-old that eats like a bird, and she orders from the Kids' Menu often when we're in Walt Disney World. On one of our last vacations, we visited with my mom, who also has a tiny appetite. They didn't mind at all if she chose the smaller portions offered on the Kids' Menu. The restaurants at Walt Disney World are more than happy to accommodate Guests when it comes to dining, so no need to worry!

I hope this helps with your planning. Please let us know if you have any further questions before your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Have a magical day - Diane W.
