I just saw the new specials from Disney, and noticed the campground is not included in either the discount rate nor the free dining plan. We have a trip planned to Ft Wilderness with an RV in Feb - do you know why is that area excluded....?

    Stephanie:

As a fan of Fort Wilderness and frequent camper there myself, I have to say I've asked the same question. I have never been told 'why' but I have surmised over the years that the rates at the campground are so much less than the other resorts that offering discounts like the Military discount or Free Dining simply doesn't make economical sense for Disney. Additionally, I doubt that Disney has to offer such discounts when the campground stays pretty full now almost year-round.

Our family has enjoyed a AAA discount on our campsite at Fort Wilderness, but typically there is no notice of when these discounts will occur and there is a very limited number of sites that will be discounted. However, it is always worth asking for and staying on top of.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
