Hi Tracy!
Welcome to planDisney!
Happy planning a Walt Disney World vacation week. Wait - that's every week for us! I have to say that I admire your planning already. Like you, I am always on a budget and looking for the best discount. Current discounts are on the
Special Offers page. One of my fellow panelists who is a Florida resident was able to see the Florida resident discounted rate. When I checked your dates as a non-Florida resident for a guest ages 10+, the standard 1 park per day ticket subtotal with tax was $653.22. My Florida resident panelist saw a subtotal of $390.61 with tax. So first things first, I encourage you all to double-check. Make sure you log into your MyDisney account and that the system is populating the Florida resident pricing. Also make sure your friend is entering the same dates for a 4-Day standard 1 park per day ticket (I am a little concerned that one of you may have selected a different kind of ticket or different dates) and make sure you are both selecting the same ages (ages 10+ or ages 3-9, whichever you need). Please note that while I have quoted pricing, there is no guarantee that the pricing quoted here will be the same pricing when you purchase. Finally, be sure your friend is actually checking non-discounted ticket prices that are priced separately and not part of a vacation package.
Vacation package pricing can include other savings. So, for example, there is a current offer for Annual Passholders on
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stays says that states savings may be "up to 35%."Applicable savings may depend on availability which also may depend on the dates of your visit. I will also add this, each time I search for special offers, I check all of the offers available that we could potentially use. Since I am an annual passholder, I always include those offers as well. In doing this comparison, I will pick the offer that best fits our family's budget. Like you, I also always compare the special offer prices to the standard pricing to make sure we are getting a discount.
If you are still unable to see the Florida resident pricing, I encourage you to
contact a cast member. They can pull up your account details to make sure that your Florida residency status is listed. As a member of the Annual Passholder family, I have to encourage you to also check the
Annual Passholder options for Florida residents. By the time you purchase a 4-Day theme park tickets, you could almost have an annual pass! When reviewing annual pass options, just be sure to check the blockout dates on the
Admissions Calendar.
Tracy, even though we live in another state, I love the
benefits of being an annual passholder, especially the discounts on select dining, merchandise, and special offers on rooms. This ticket pricing issue that you shared is a concern, but I trust you will get it sorted out, with a cast member if needed. When you get those tickets or an annual pass purchased, let the magic begin!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
