Hello Stephanie,
Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question. You must be so excited that your vacation is almost here. Magic and memories await! Let's talk about transportation during a
runDisney race weekend.
If you're staying at a hotel in the
Disney Resorts Collection, the front desk will have information about expected impacts on transportation during your stay. You are welcome to stop by upon arrival to inquire about updates. I wouldn't anticipate problems reaching
Magic Kingdom Park, but I suggest you plan for extra travel time and leave your resort about one hour before
Early Theme Park Entry begins.
Walt Disney World buses will route around race-related road closures, most of which will be near
EPCOT, the start and finish line of the Hakuna Matata 10 Miler. Since the race begins at 5 AM, many participants will cross the finish line before you even leave your resort!
I hope this is helpful, Stephanie, and that you enjoy the vibes of a runDisney race weekend. On Sunday, you'll see runners in Magic Kingdom Park taking pictures with their medals and celebrating their accomplishments. It may even inspire you to lace up your running shoes and consider participating next year! My favorite event is
Princess Half Marathon Weekend. If 13.1 miles is a stretch, each runDisney weekend offers distances starting at 5K. Best wishes for an enchanting vacation, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do before you set off on your adventure, come visit us again.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
