Phoebe from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I saw that for the first week of June, park closing hours are earlier than they are right now. Is that expected to change and closing hours expected to extend to later in the evening? And are solo rider lines currently open?

    Welcome to planDisney, Phoebe!

I’m also planning a June visit to the Walt Disney World Resort – I’m so excited for both of us! I can’t wait to be inside the magic, enjoying warm early summer sunshine, Florida sunsets, and all the refreshing treats.

I also like to keep an eye on the Park Hours as my visit approaches, and am always hopeful some pixie dust will come my way in the form of longer hours in the theme parks. There are never guarantees that Park Hours will be extended, but it does happen. The hours seem to be set fairly far in advance, and then are adjusted based on crowd projections and other factors that only Mickey understands. Right now, Park Hours are extended in response to Spring Break crowds; we usually see longer hours during holidays and school break seasons. So, while I can’t promise that the Park Hours for your dates will be extended, it’s a very good idea to keep an eye on them.

My daughter was introduced to the single rider line on our last visit before the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, and she is HOOKED. She loved being able to ride her favorite, Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, multiple times in a row using that line. (I can make it about three times before I need to sit on a rock at the exit and take some deep breaths.) I’m hopeful that single rider queues will return; right now, single rider is not available at the Walt Disney World Resort. The Cast Members are working some serious magic managing queues right now to ensure physical distancing and other safety considerations, while also ensuring Guests who require additional assistance, such as those using Disability Access Service and Rider Switch Service, are assisted. I would still recommend politely asking a Cast Member at the entrance to attractions where you’ve experienced the single rider option in the past, just to see if anything has changed.

Phoebe, I’m sending you a safely-distanced Mickey hand high-five for all your planning. One of my dear friends and fellow Panelists just returned from a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and she had a phenomenal time. She did say that planning is the key to an awesome visit right now, so keep checking Disney Parks’ social media sites, reading the Disney Parks Blog, and making those plans. We’re here to help if you think of any more questions as you count down the days.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
